We are a community of people who are followers of Jesus. Our aim is love Jesus, love our community and love one another.
We are part of the Church of Scotland and we believe the traditional teachings of Christianity as revealed in the Bible. These include:
William is our minister, and has been at Burnside Blairbeth since 2006. Married to Mairi, they have two sons - Patrick and Grant. When he manages to grab a bit of spare time, their dog Barney enjoys a walk. He is also a faithful follower of Glasgow Warriors.
Les has been a member of the Ministry Team since February 2006. He supports and assists William with the pastoral care of our members, and oversees the pastoral care visitors. He is involved in many church activities and leads the monthly prayer group for pastoral concerns. Les is married to Frances and they have two grown up daughters and are grandparents to Alastair and Emily.
Community Outreach Worker
Melanie joined our team in 2015 and is involved in sharing the good news about God with our community, both by doing this herself and by helping the congregation to do this in different ways. Originally from Germany, Melanie worked with a church in Wales before coming to Glasgow, and while there learned to speak Welsh, and walked all around the Welsh coastline. She now spends her days off walking the Scottish coastline!
Alan looks after the buildings on a day to day basis, and provides a welcoming face and practical assistance for all the users of our premises. Before starting at Burnside Blairbeth in 2015 he worked for 15 years as a joiner. Alan and his wife Diana have two young children who keep them busy. When he finds the time, Alan enjoys playing drums and guitar (not at the same time), watching Queens Park FC and going to rock concerts.
